September 8, 2009

I hope everyone had a fun weekend and enjoyed the extra day off! Sixth graders, remember to bring those leaves tomorrow. Here is a snapshot of our busy day.

6th Lang. Arts: I entered the first reading homework grades this morning. Some of the grades were good and others not so great. Remember to check grades online to see how the reading homework grade impacts the overall grade. Homework tonight is to finish reading chapter 7 and read chapter 8 in Holes.

7th Lang. Arts: I entered the first reading homework grades this morning. Some of the grades were good and others not so great. Remember to check grades online to see how the reading homework impacts the overall grade. The first part of the Wax Museum outline is due tomorrow. Some students finished this in class and others will have to finish it at home tonight.

6th Social Studies: The first three notecards for the Wax Museum are due tomorrow. I reminded the students to check the rubric to see how I will be grading these.

6th Spelling: We began Lesson 2 today, and our words focus on long e and short e. The students need to write each word three times and also do pages 15-16 in their spelling book. Both of these assignments are due in the morning, but some students may have finished them in class today.
